Deux univers, une matière
Evolution
The story begins with a maple tree that has survived through the ages; a tree that has evolved over the decades and centuries.
One must imagine a centuries-old sycamore maple which, by its magnificence and its powerful wingspan, would never have been the object of man's covetousness.
A tree that, very young, understanding that its peers were being exploited for their wood by this small fragile but so mobile and dangerous being, decided to grow twisted and almost hollow. Not attracting the attention of the logger. Over the decades, only it remained in a desert universe of overexploited fields ravaged by brush fires. The tree began to lack water on this land damaged by years of plowing, absorbing as best it could the successive years of drought.
But nature not having said its last word and by some unknown miracle of evolution, its samaras began to transform over the years into tiny winged creatures!
Normally, the maple samara can only carry the sycamore seed by wind. It is already a feat of evolution and a proof of genius to have created a winged envelope to ensure that it is carried several hundred meters by the autumn gusts.
This one could move by itself, using its wings to fetch the most precious commodity we have: water!
Tiny drops carried on its abdomen, allowing the tree to survive in the most extreme moments.
But most importantly, she had the opportunity to move to territories where man wreaks less havoc, where the land is still rich and fertile. To simply perpetuate this eternity of life and evolution.
