This is a somewhat unusual story, that of the Silver Duke. It begins in a gigantic Linden tree, the likes of which we have not found in Europe for centuries. A gnarled tree sheltering several families of Grand and Petit Dukes, rooted in a superb vein of silver, the oldest roots would have concentrated with the rock loaded with ore. These birds, so attached to the tree for generations, systematically return there to nest.

It is from this fusion of rock, tree and its animals that the Silver Duke was born. A profound mutation of the carbon chain of atoms and cells of the animal, a synergistic evolution between elements remaining in contact for centuries. The ore is found as if sucked into the bone structure of this Grand Duke, by the forces of nature that we cannot explain.

He spent his life watching over this thousand-year-old tree, as one cherishes an ancestral home.
